WCPS Pausing In-person Classes and Activities

Taking a Pause

Washington County Public Schools (WCPS) has been closely monitoring our community’s COVID-19 health metrics. Out of an abundance of caution, WCPS is taking a pause from in-person classes and activities for three weeks.

All WCPS students will transition to distance learning through online classes beginning Monday, November 16.

In-person activities may resume on December 7, 2020, depending on community health metrics.

In-person classes, athletic events, and other activities may continue through Saturday, November 14.

Follow the School Board Nominating Commission Progress

Government organizations have nominated individuals to serve on a School Board Nominating Commission. These individuals will follow an established process to select a candidate who will fill a vacancy on the Washington County Board of Education. To follow the latest updates from the School Board Nominating Commission, go to this page on the Washington County website. Agendas, meeting videos, and more information can be found here.

Return to Play Update

Washington County Public Schools (WCPS) is committed to providing a safe, healthy learning environment for all students and staff. We are fortunate to be making progress in returning groups of students to schools and providing opportunities for athletes to participate in fall sports.

We must all work together and follow established guidelines to keep our schools open and our extracurricular programs running.
