The orchestra is comprised of orchestral string players (violin, viola, cello, and double bass).  We perform in three major events a year, the Winter Concert, WCPS Large Ensemble Festival, and our Spring Concert.  We also embrace additional performance opportunities as they arise, past additional performances include at the ARC of Washington County, several elementary schools, and Colonial Williamsburg.  The orchestra is a class that meets during the school day and the after school commitments are limited to concerts and possibly an occasional rehearsal.  We perform a variety of music that is aligned to the Maryland curriculum  and is educationally appropriate for the students in the ensemble.  We also perform as a full symphony in the Spring Concert in conjunction with members from the BHS Band.  Enrollment in orchestra qualifies students for all County and State level events.
