On August 2, 2022, the Washington County Board of Education (“Board”) approved the first reading of proposed changes to the following policies:

On July 19, 2022, the Washington County Board of Education (“Board”) approved the first reading of proposed changes to Policy JCA, entitled “Establishment of School Attendance Area.”

The Board’s Policy Committee (“Committee”) is seeking comments from the community at this time on the proposed changes to the policy, which is attached.  You may submit your comments electronically or by U.S. mail on or before July 29, 2022, to the members of the Committee and to the staff liaison to the Committee at the following addresses:

On June 21, 2022, the Washington County Board of Education (“Board”) approved the first reading of proposed changes to Policy JICJ, entitled “Use of Personally-Owned, Electronic Devices.”

The Board’s Policy Committee (“Committee”) is seeking comments from the community at this time on the proposed changes to the policy, which is attached.  You may submit your comments electronically or by U.S. mail on or before July 8, 2022, to the members of the Committee and to the staff liaison to the Committee at the following addresses:

WCPS is accepting applications for two committees: Early Childhood Education and Career and College Readiness, to begin the work of successful implementation of The Blueprint for Maryland’s Future. We would like to involve parents, staff, and community stakeholders in this work. Committees will begin meeting in July.

Washington County Public Schools is operating the Meal Machine starting Monday, June 13 and continuing through the summer months. Check the schedule for information on when and where to find the Meal Machine. 

Please note that Tuesday, June 7, 2022 is the last day of school for students with a two-and-a-half hour early dismissal.
