Parents Organization

The NHHS IBPO is dedicated to support and encourage the students in the IB program as well as promote internationality and awareness of IB in Washington County. In order to fulfill these objectives, we will work with the administration, teachers and students, maintain open lines of communication and reach out to the community. We will succeed and serve as a model to the community by persevering, taking responsibility, innovating and becoming lifelong learners.

History

The IBPO began in the fall of 2009 with a group of parents dedicated to supporting the IB teachers, administrators and students. By-laws were written and the first officers were elected in the spring of 2010. Through voluntary donations, money was raised to host the first Senior Breakfast at the start of IB exams, and the IB dinner and Sash and Cord Ceremony at the end of the year. The organization is working on the establishment of a partnership with the Washington County Public Schools Education Foundation to increase charitable donations to the organization enabling us to concentrate on activities that support IB and not fundraisers.

Get Involved

Parents and others interested in supporting the IB program are encouraged to get involved in a number of ways:

  • Attend meetings to plan activities for the current year
  • Volunteer to assist with activities sponsored by the IBPO
  • Donate to the IBPO
