WCPS / Children In Need Partnership Opens 13th Annual Clothing Drive

HAGERSTOWN, MD (September 20, 2019) – Washington County Public Schools and Children In Need begin the 13th annual clothing drive on Monday, September 23, 2019, continuing through October 4. Students, parents, staff and the community are encouraged to donate gently used clothing that Children In Need distributes to children eligible for the Free and Reduced Meals program. Toiletries, books and school supplies are also accepted. The schools participating in the September/October 2019 collection are:

  • Clear Spring Elementary, Middle and High
  • Fountain Rock Elementary
  • Hancock Elementary and Middle/High
  • Hickory Elementary
  • Lincolnshire Elementary
  • Rockland Woods Elementary
  • Springfield Middle
  • Williamsport Elementary and High

Collection boxes will be located at each school, the Center for Education Services, 10435 Downsville Pike, Hagerstown and Head Start at the MLK. Center, 131 West North Avenue, Hagerstown, during regular school and business hours. The Maryland Department of Corrections is providing employees to pick up the donations from each location. The clothing drive will continue at other schools during the school year. Children In Need, Inc. is a non-profit, 501(C) 3 organization founded in 1998.
