The Washington County Board of Education is conducting an executive search process to hire a new superintendent of schools. The Board has contracted with McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., Executive Recruitment and Development to recruit and identify the ideal candidate who will continue advancing the success and achievement of students in Washington County, Maryland.
The Board of Education takes seriously the duty of selecting a new superintendent. The superintendent is responsible for upholding the Board’s policies and the collective vision to support student achievement and success, manage fiscal resources, and oversee the daily operations of the school system. The Board intends for the new superintendent to begin working in Washington County by July 1, 2022.

Members of the WCPS learning community contributed thoughts and feedback by completing an online survey and/or by participating in community meetings. McPherson and Jacobson compiled all feedback in the WCPS Final Stakeholder Report.
