Mathew Drabczyk

Matt Drabczyk

Matt Drabczyk is a graduate of Shepherd University with a BA in Secondary Education with a focus on Social Studies. He changed careers later in his life to pursue what he believed was his calling - to teach! He spent 16 years in computer registration for trade shows for a company based in Frederick, MD where he traveled extensively within the U.S. as an account rep, later becoming the director of training for the company. After graduating from Shepherd in December of 2008, he soon began teaching for a year and half at North Hagerstown High School. He then was assigned to what would ultimately be his "dream job" - teaching our wonderfully gifted children here at the Barbara Ingram School for the Arts after the first year of the school's existence in 2009. Mr Drabczyk teaches Government, AP and Intro Psychology, and Sociology here at BISFA. Mr. Drabczyk is proud of his family unit which consists of his wonderful wife Bari, his two beautiful children Josh and Maya, two dogs Moe and Lady, and their guinea pig Mocco. When he's not teaching or discussing fantasy football or politics with his social studies teaching buddy Mr. Clinger, Mr. Drabczyk likes to camp and hike (bio pic is from Mr. D camping in Cranberry Wilderness, West Virginia!), play his acoustic guitar and sing, tend to his garden, and cook.
