WCPS Seeks Feedback on Draft Blueprint Implementation Plan

Posted February 16, 2023

The Blueprint for Maryland’s Future is a landmark legislation passed in 2021, which includes comprehensive changes to Maryland’s public education system. It will increase annual education funding by over $3.8 billion over the next 10 years to enrich student experiences, accelerate improvements to student outcomes, and improve the quality of education in Maryland.

The law is organized into five policy areas, or pillars:

  1. Early childhood education
  2. High-quality and diverse teachers and leaders
  3. College and career readiness
  4. More resources for all students to be successful
  5. Governance and accountability

BLUEPRINT IMPLEMENTATION PLAN

WCPS is required to submit a Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Implementation Plan on March 15, 2023. The plan will be submitted to the Maryland State Department of Education and, to the Accountability and Implementation Board (AIB).  The AIB is the governing board overseeing the implementation of the law. WCPS is committed to stakeholder feedback through our feedback teams, committees, community information sessions, Board of Education public meetings, and our stakeholder survey.
