WCBOE Seeking Public Comment on Proposed Policy Changes (Sept. 2021)

Hagerstown, MD (September 22, 2021) - On September 21, 2021, the Washington County Board of Education (“Board”) approved the first reading of proposed changes to the following policies:

  • Policy JEDB – “Student Dismissal Precautions”
  • Policy JFA – “Students: Enrollment and Attendance”
  • Policy JHCF – “Epinephrine Availability and Use Requirements”

The Board’s Policy Committee (“Committee”) is seeking comments from the community at this time on the proposed changes to the policies, which are attached.  You may submit your comments electronically or by U.S. mail on or before October 1, 2021, to the members of the Committee and to the staff liaison to the Committee at the following addresses:

In the event you need a hard copy of the policies with the proposed changes, you may contact the Public Information Office at 301-766-2846.  The Committee anticipates submitting the proposed changes to Policies JEDB, JFA, and JHCF to the Board of Education at its public business meeting on October 5, 2021, for the second reading and the Board’s final review and approval.
