On May 16, 2023, the Washington County Board of Education (“Board”) approved the first reading of the following:

• Proposed changes to Policy DN – “Disposal of Surplus, Salvage, or Obsolete Equipment and/or Materials”
• Proposed changes to Policy GBLA – “Personnel Records – Background Checks and Disclosures of Employees”
• Proposed changes to Policy JEB – “Prekindergarten”
• Rescission of Policy GBEF – “Health and Safety/Tobacco Free School Premises”
• Rescission of Policy JHF – “Health and Safety – Students”
• Proposed Policy ADD – “Health and Safety”

The Board’s Policy Committee (“Committee”) is seeking comments from the community at this time on the proposed changes to the policies, which are attached.  You may submit your comments electronically or by U.S. mail on or before May 31, 2023, to the members of the Committee and to the staff liaison to the Committee at the following addresses:
