Traffic Light Work Not Finished at Smithsburg School Complex

Posted August 15, 2016

Hagerstown, MD (August 15, 2016) - Work on the traffic light at the entrance to the Smithsburg schools will not be finished by the first day of school, so parents of Smithsburg students are being encouraged to have their children walk to school, ride their assigned school bus, or in the case of parents of middle and high school students who still intend to drive their children to school, to drop them off at the athletic fields or tennis courts so they can walk from there to school. Smithsburg police officers will be directing traffic, but are asking cooperation from parents to minimize congestion. All motorists are encouraged to slow down and stay alert in the area of the schools.
