HAGERSTOWN, MD (May 16, 2017) – Washington County Public Schools (WCPS) presents the third annual Faculty Arts Showcase on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Williamsport High School. The art show begins at 3 p.m. in the auditorium lobby and the concert, featuring the string ensemble, concert band and jazz band, will follow at 4 p.m. in the auditorium.

The art show has been organized by Lily Clay, art curriculum specialist for WCPS and will feature a number of works by county art teachers. The string ensemble is collaboratively self-directed by the WCPS string staff. The concert band will be under the direction of Dr. Stephen Miles, supervisor of visual and performing arts, and the jazz band will be led by Scott Benford, band director at South Hagerstown High School. Each of the musical ensembles include current, former and prospective music educators from the area, as well as talented community musicians, members of the WCPS educational community and outstanding student musicians from WCPS.

A $5 donation will be collected at the door, to help establish a scholarship fund to support graduating WCPS students pursuing higher education in the arts.
