Public Hearing on Draft Budget on February 28

HAGERSTOWN, MD (February 24, 2017) – Citizens will have the opportunity to comment on the Fiscal Year 2018 Draft General Fund Budget at a public hearing on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 6 p.m. The draft of the spending plan was approved by the Washington County Board of Education (BOE) at its February 21 business meeting. The hearing will be held at the Center for Education Services (CES), 10435 Downsville Pike, Hagerstown.

Up to two and a half hours will be set aside for the hearing, but the hearing will end prior to that time if all individuals present have had an opportunity to speak. If testimony continues past the allotted time, it will be announced that the hearing will be continued on a future date. Anyone wishing to speak at the hearing can contact BOE assistant Debbie Cechovic at 301.766.2971 or [email protected], or register prior to the start of the hearing at the CES. Speakers are encouraged to provide a minimum of nine copies of their testimony to the BOE.
