Josh Edwards Named State Teacher of the Year Finalist

Hagerstown, MD (September 5, 2019) - Clear Spring High School visual arts teacher Josh Edwards, Washington County Public Schools (WCPS) 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year, has been named one of seven finalists for Maryland State Teacher of the Year. Josh just began his 15th year of teaching with WCPS and has been nominated for county Teacher of the Year four times, while being named a finalist three times. Among many professional honors and certifications locally and statewide, Josh was chosen as a 2017 Outstanding Educator Using Technology Award winner and has received multiple honors from the Maryland Art Education Association. He is the second consecutive WCPS Teacher of the Year to achieve state finalist, as Jeanine Horst from Cascade Elementary School did the previous year.

The Maryland State Teacher of the Year dinner and recognition will be held on October 25, 2019.
