Hagerstown, MD (October 19, 2016) - Based on the work of the Board of Education’s (BOE) Policy Review and Development Committee, the BOE approved a first read of Policy JICE, entitled “Student Journalists - Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the Press.” during its October 18, 2016 business meeting. The BOE is providing an additional opportunity for public comment through the close of business on October 28, 2016.

The BOE is expected to consider a second read and possible adoption of the policy at its November 1 business meeting.
