Washington County Public Schools (WCPS) announces upcoming meetings of the Family Life Advisory Committee. This is a standing advisory committee to the Washington County Board of Education that includes appointed representatives of parents, businesspeople, community stakeholders, and staff who expressed an interest in family life instructional materials. 

Meetings will be held on the following dates:

• Monday, June 6, 2022 at 4:30 p.m.
• Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 4:30 p.m.
• Monday, June 13, 2022 at 4:30 p.m.

WCPS Health Education staff have been reviewing the revised Maryland Comprehensive Health Education Framework for pre-k through high school from the Maryland State Department of Education and have developed a draft curriculum for WCPS for the upcoming school year. During the upcoming Family Life Advisory Committee meetings, members will review instructional materials and family life programs to provide feedback to WCPS staff regarding the development, implementation, and evaluation of resources to be included in the family life curriculum.

Meetings will be held virtually on the Zoom platform and will be viewable by the public. Members of the community will be able to watch the meeting discussions by obtaining a link that will be publicly posted on the Family Life Advisory Committee webpage. The link for an upcoming meeting will be posted prior to the scheduled date and time as listed above. Meeting agendas are also posted on the webpage.
