Instructional Programs
The Office of Instructional Supervision provides district-wide direction and support to all instruction in order to ensure continuous improvement in student achievement. Staff in this department develops and implements the district’s Essential Curriculum and assessments congruent with Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) directives and assessments. Additionally, they select appropriate instructional materials and provide professional development to all instructional staff. The Directors and Supervisors evaluate building-based instructional and administrative staff. Additionally, this office administers programs that support student achievement, including federal and state programs, technology, safe and drug-free schools, guidance and counseling, student services and special education.
