Bus routes for the 2020-2021 school year will be the subject of discussion during summer break. Updated routes are typically finalized and available within approximately two weeks prior to the start of the school year to each family via eLink or by clicking on the individual school routes when they are posted under Documents on the right side of this page. Note that the route sheets for Eastern Elementary/Ruth Ann Monroe Primary are always combined into one document. More information can be obtained from each school or the Transportation Department at 301-766-2902.
ATTENTION: Important changes related to bus transportation of students were approved by the Board of Education to promote safety, consistency and accountability in the transportation of children.
- Bus transportation will be provided to students from only two consistent locations in the morning and to only two consistent locations at the end of the school day. These stops must remain consistent from week to week.
- If a parent or guardian desires an arrangement that varies from the policy (EEA-R), he or she must complete and submit the Transportation Location Change Request Form to the Transportation Department for consideration. Parents and guardians will be notified of a decision regarding the request. Please allow 10 days for processing. Changes in service will not take place until schools, drivers and parents are all notified. The forms, along with the related policy and regulation, are also available at each school and the WCPS Center for Education Services, 10435 Downsville Pike, Hagerstown.
- Children will be required to ride the bus to which they have been assigned. School administration will no longer authorize notes from a parent or guardian to have a child ride a bus other than the one to which he or she has been assigned. Changes to a child's transportation, due to residential relocation, or change of a consistent care provider, can be made only by submitting a Transportation Location Change Request Form.
