Parents of 6th grade students, please review your child’s immunization records.

If your 11 or 12 year old has not received a vaccine for Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (known as Tdap) or Meningococcal vaccine (MCV), he/she is required by the Maryland State Department of Education to have these immunizations prior to entering 7th grade.

Seventh grade students who have no vaccination records for the Tdap or MCV run the risk of being excluded from school after 20 days.

Washington County Public schools recommend that proof of these required vaccinations be sent by mail or fax to the Health Office as soon as possible. You may also contact the Washington County Health Department (WCHD) at 240-313-3210 to make an appointment at their immunization clinic. There are no walk-ins accepted. At this time, the WCHD offers immunization clinics twice a month. You should plan to take any previous immunization records to that appointment.

Feel free to contact the Health Office at 301-766-8042 with any questions.
