Academic Support

Hancock Middle/Senior High School fosters a strong support structure for our students to ensure academic success.   Tutoring by teachers may be available before and after the school day.  Peer tutors are available, but must be scheduled through the guidance office.  Some teachers are scheduled with Instructional Help time throughout the day, and some special education teachers are available for resource time throughout the day.  The school also has implemented for the past few years individual instruction for those students needing help passing the HSAs during selected times.

Does your student need tutoring?

Hancock Middle/Senior High teachers are very willing to stay before or after school to individually help their students. Please contact your student’s teacher directly in order to arrange dates and times.

If the option above does not interest you, the Department of Instruction at the Board of Education can provide you a list of private tutors that you can contact for tutoring services. This service is NOT free of charge. The telephone number for the Department of Instruction is (301) 766-2911.
