Magnet Program for Integrated Arts and Technology

Magnet students will experience arts and technology infusion throughout their instructional day.  Students with special aptitudes for and interests in art, music, physical education, technology, and theater will enjoy this program.  Magnet students build individual strengths and talents when they choose and participate in an elective that focuses on the school’s theme. With its 1:1 iPad Initiative, all students regularly collaborate and complete projects in a digitally-driven environment, focusing on problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, innovation, and communication. All students have opportunities to regularly access interactive whiteboards, digital and video cameras, laptops, and other technologies to demonstrate understanding with iMovie, Educreations, and other high-tech applications. Students engage in online learning communities and are offered opportunities for choice in tools/formats suited to their individual learning styles. Emma K. Doub teachers and students have earned state and regional recognition not only in the visual and performing arts but also for their service to the community. Students are expected to complete summer assignments, which “frontload” content and allow magnet teachers to increase the depth of unit exploration throughout the school year.
