HAGERSTOWN, MD (January 30, 2018) – Four seniors from Washington County Technical High School became apprentices through the Washington County Public Schools (WCPS) Youth Apprenticeship Maryland Program in the month of December. Each student will complete 450 hours of mentored on-the-job instruction at a participating employer.

Brandon Hammett is a cell phone repair technician at Jay Reece Mobile Repair. Casey Kelly is an operations assistant at Beacon Grace, LLC. Kylin Jones is working at Bopat Electric Company, Inc. and Michael Selby is working at TEI Electrical Solutions, both as electrical apprentices.

WCPS Youth Apprenticeship Maryland brings students from Washington County Public Schools and employers together to create a pipeline of skilled and qualified labor by providing on-the-job training and related classroom instruction to eligible high school students.

WCPS is building partnerships with local employers as part of the Youth Apprenticeship Maryland Program.
