Community Listening Sessions with Interim Superintendent Scheduled

Posted March 30, 2017

HAGERSTOWN, MD (March 30, 2017) – Three community listening sessions have been scheduled as a way for interim Washington County Public Schools (WCPS) superintendent Dr. Boyd Michael to introduce himself to parents and community members and discuss school system initiatives and priorities. The sessions will allow parents, students, WCPS staff and members of the community to offer ideas, express concerns and ask questions about the school system.

The sessions are scheduled as follows:

  • Wednesday, April 5 – Boonsboro High School media center – 6 – 7:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, April 25 – Clear Spring Middle School cafeteria – 6 – 7:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 3 – Jonathan Hager Elementary School cafeteria – 6 – 7:30 p.m.

Dr. Michael, who is serving as interim superintendent until he becomes full-time superintendent on July 1, 2017, believes it is important to schedule the sessions before the end of the school year. “We hope the feedback received will help us shape conversations this summer in preparation for the new school year.” Parents are encouraged to attend any of the sessions, regardless of where their children attend school. Details about the sessions will be emailed to parents and promoted through the WCPS website and social media sites.
