HAGERSTOWN, MD (February 27, 2017) – Bethany Doppel of Clear Spring High School has been honored for exemplary volunteer service with a President’s Volunteer Service Award. Nominated for the award by her school, Bethany has volunteered at STAR Equestrian Center, accumulating over 1,700 hours of service. Her volunteer experiences have developed her interest in pursuing a career in Equine Facilitated Therapeutics.

The award was granted by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program on behalf of the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation. In addition, Prudential Financial and the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) are partners in the program.

“Demonstrating civic responsibility through volunteerism is an important part of life,” said NASSP Executive Director JoAnn Bartoletti. “These honorees practice a lesson we hope all young people, as well as adults, will emulate.”
