HAGERSTOWN, MD (January 30, 2017) – Eighth grade students have an opportunity to participate in the annual Day on the Job on Thursday, February 2, 2017. Participating students will spend the day shadowing a parent, family member or other business person in a workplace. The program is designed to give students a first-hand experience in a work setting, and to help them understand job expectations, create job and career awareness, help make better informed career decisions later in their school career and provide motivation for students to strive to reach their potential in school. Each participating student must complete an “Exploring Careers Together” reflection activity on the job and submit it at school the following day in order to gain credit for attendance.
