Tentative Teacher Contract Agreement Reached

Hagerstown, MD (August 29, 2016) - The bargaining teams representing the Washington County Board of Education (WCBOE) and the Washington County Teachers Association (WCTA) today reached a tentative agreement over the terms and conditions of a new one-year collective bargaining agreement covering the approximately 1,800 teachers and other professional certificated employees employed by WCBOE. The tentative agreement, which is subject to ratification by both the Board of Education and the WCTA’s membership, includes a one step salary increase and a .5 percent improvement to the scale for all members of the bargaining unit.
If ratified, the increases in compensation agreed to in today’s negotiations shall be made retroactive to July 1, 2016.
