Activities

Many opportunities are available for our students!

Art Club - Regan Windsor

Meets Monday for direct instruction, Wednesday for Art Studio; 3:30 - 4:30 each day. Students may get sign up information from Mrs. Windsor.


Chess Club - Mrs. Windsor

Limited to 25 students; Monday and Wednesday from 3:30 - 4:30


Color Guard - Amanda Kline

During the fall and spring seasons, you have the opportunity to twirl a flag or rifle and perform with the marching band within the various parades. During the winter season, you have the opportunity to twirl a flag or rifle and perform at various high school shows.

  • Fall Color Guard - 7th/8th grade students only
  • Winter Color Guard - 6th-8th grade students (will start after winter break)

Anyone can audtion (non-band students are encouraged)!

We practice on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30.


destination imagination - Kimberly Brown 

To develop opportunities that inspire the global community of learners to utilize diverse approaches in applying 21st century skills and creativity.  DI meets every first and second Wednesday of the month starting October 4th. The meetings will be from 5-7pm. Please reach out to Kimberly_L_Brown@mcpsmd.org if you have any questions.


FCA - Laurel Longnecker, Holly Gardenhour

FCA meets on Wednesday at 8 a.m. in Mrs. Gardenhour's Choral Room.
Dates: November 16, 30; December 7, 14, 21

FFA - Tonya Meadows

Meets once a month with the Boonsboro High School FFA & once a month at BMS when specified.

Leo Club (Lions Club) - jillian markle, Deb Frew

We are a community service organization that does many fun projects to help the Boonsboro and Hagerstown area. First meeting will be September 19th right after school in Mrs. Markle's room.


Math Counts - Jane Artman, alice roberts

Math Counts will be starting up on Thursdays this year beginning September 21st . Our meeting times are from 3:30 to 4:30. We meet in Mrs. Robert's room.


National Junior Honor Society - roman ganoe

NJHS will not be accepting new members until after the first marking period.  Once GPA reports are available, announcements will be made on BTV for when and where to pick up Student Activity Forms and Chapter Bylaws.  For basic guidelines, please see pages 8 - 10 of your Student Planner.  Please remember for NJHS all deadlines are firm, so please make sure you listen for deadlines in announcements.


Robotics Team - Allen Sharpless

The BMS Robotics team is now accepting applications for the 2017-2018 school year. There is only room for 20 members. All returning members need to reapply. Contact Mr. Sharpless for more details.


Sixth Grade Girls Reading Club - Diane James

Members are invited by teacher referral. Meetings to begin the end of September on a day that suits the most participants. Meeting dates: November 15 and 29, December 6, 13 and 20


Student Government - Mrs. Wolfensberger, Mrs. Salvas

Students who are interested in becoming a student council member at large or running for office must fill out a form that includes teacher references and be submitted in the beginning of the year. The student population votes for office members this year on September 22. Student council members and officers meet after school throughout the year.  Members are required to help with the set-up, tear-down, and attending the school dances throughout the year.  They are also active participants in other student council activities and functions we have during the school year.


WEB - Ms. Kinsey

WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) is an inclusive, year long transition program that empowers current 8th graders to be systems of support for the new 6th grade class. WEB Leaders will meet once per month to brainstorm and discuss the various ways the Leaders can make a positive impact in the school and community. Current 7th graders are encouraged to apply for their 8th grade Leader position in March.
