WCPS Students Participating in District "We the People" Competition

HAGERSTOWN, MD - Students from Boonsboro, South Hagerstown, and Williamsport high schools will participate in the We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution annual Simulated Congressional Hearing Competition on Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. The event will be held at Washington County Technical High School.

Students will demonstrate their knowledge of Constitutional principles while working in collaborative teams, “testifying” before a panel of community representatives acting as a congressional committee.

The primary goal of We the People is to promote civic competence and responsibility among students. The program helps students understand the history and principles of the Constitution and to discover the contemporary relevance of the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
