Posted April 21, 2023

Hagerstown, MD (April 21, 2023) - Washington County Public Schools (WCPS) is seeking feedback from the community regarding a new curriculum resource. The WCPS Division of Curriculum recommends purchasing Reporteros 1, 2 and 3 from the publisher, Klett World Languages (KWL). Reporteros will be the primary resource for Spanish 1, 2 and 3 instruction for students in grades 6-12. Reporteros was selected as a finalist in February 2023 and was subsequently chosen as the preferred resource after being piloted by 8 middle school and high school Spanish teachers from February through April 2023.

What is Reporteros?

Reporteros is published by KWL, which is part of the Klett Group, one of the largest publishing groups in the world. Language learning is an essential part of this group’s history. Reporteros is an inclusive, innovative, Spanish program aimed at middle and high school students. It follows a communicative approach to learning through projects inspired by real-world scenarios. It is aligned with Maryland World-Readiness Standards for Learning Languages and the American Council on Teaching Foreign Languages (ACTFL) Core Practices and Guiding Principles for Language Learning.
