WCPS Chapters to Celebrate National FFA Week

HAGERSTOWN, MD (February 19, 2016) – Students in Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapters in Washington County Public Schools will celebrate National FFA Week from February 21 – 27. FFA is the largest high school youth organization in the world and a very active program in Washington County. Each school with an FFA program has planned Spirit Week activities, which will include a teacher appreciation breakfast. Other scheduled activities include a Tuesday breakfast at Clear Spring High School with the Washington County Commissioners and representatives of all county FFA chapters. The Clear Spring chapter will have members participating in the Sunday service at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, holding Bring Your Animal to School Day on Wednesday and conducting a hunger drive to generate food donations for the needy in the town of Clear Spring Thursday evening. In addition, FFA students at Washington County Technical High School will read stories with an agriculture theme to the children in Tech High’s My Special Place Early Childhood Professions.
