Mrs. Logsdon’s Transition Skills Program will be selling Hot Chocolate for $1.00, December 5th, 10th, 11th and 12th during Tech break times.
Tech High Expressions: THE Magazine has just published Imagination, Issue 2: 2016-2018, and we’re celebrating with a “Publish Party” on Thursday, December 20, 2018, from 6:00 - 7:00 PM in the WCTHS Media Center. Limited copies of the issue are available and will be made available to those who attend the event. To access a PDF of the issue, click here.
THE Magazine staff is now accepting literary and visual arts submissions for the next issue. For information, join THE Magazine Submissions Google Classroom with the join code h8da1a. Click on the assignment and follow the directions. In addition, we’re looking for students interested in the publication process to join the staff. Interested? See your English teacher or any member of the current staff. Meetings are held on Fridays after school.
“What’s the BIG Idea???” That’s the question for aspiring entrepreneurs in the Washington County Public Schools. If you have an idea for a new business, service, or product, you could win money and introduce your idea to the world by participating in the WCPS Aspiring Entrepreneurs Competition. The competition is open to individuals and teams. Interested? See Mrs. Mowen to sign up as a Tech High participant. Applications are due by January 11, business plans are due by March 1, and the county Finale is May 22. If you would like to buy any of the Senior Class Shirts - Mrs. Larrick has a few extras. The following sizes are available: Short Sleeve Black Shirts Medium, Large and X-Large $12 each, and an XXLarge $15. First come first serve. Order forms are available for a 2nd round of ordering - must have a minimum of 20 of each type of shirt. Don't graduate without one of these great shirts!
Yearbooks are $50 from now until December 22.

- $60 – March 23 – May 3.
- $65 cash – May 4 – end of year if there are any unsold Yearbooks.

The ASVAB interpretation of results will be held on December 10, 2018 from 9:15-10:15.
Attention Seniors: Have you completed your FAFSA/Financial Aid for next year? Visit Tech High on Tuesday, December 11th from 3:00 - 7:00 PM. You and your parents will need to bring W2’s and 2017 Federal Income Tax return (both parent and student) to complete your FAFSA. It’s FREE and will assist with FREE money and/or loans. Spring registration at HCC is underway. All students who want to be in the ESSENCE program and take classes at HCC will need to call 240-500-2238 or stop by the HCC Admissions Office to schedule an appointment to register for classes. Spring classes begin January 7th.
United Way of Washington Co. are looking for volunteers to gift wrap at the Valley Mall through Thursday, December 13th. Students, staff and families are needed from 11:00AM-8:00PM Monday-Saturday and from 1:00PM-5:00PM on Sundays. Three shifts are available, 11-2PM, 2-5PM and 5-8PM Monday through Saturday. Cedar Lawn Annual Festival of Lights – event will be held on December 8th to memorialize those who have passed away. This year, students from a Cub Scout Troop were selected to prepare more than 5000 luminaries, which will be used to illuminate the park. The scouts and student volunteers will arrive at 8:00 A.M. Saturday, December 8th to place the luminaries on grave-sites and at 3:30 P.M. the scouts and volunteers will begin the task of lighting the luminaries. The lights will burn into the evening hours allowing participants the chance to pay tribute to their loved ones. For more information, please contact Terica Welch at (301) 733-6682.
Rockland Woods Basketball Club - Instructional non-profit basketball league for K-5th graders is looking for anyone with knowledge and skills to be assistant coaches or referees for the K/1 and 2/3 age groups. Goodwill Industries - is looking for 17-18 year old Washington County students to enroll in free classes! There are different topics for each 2 week class. Classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-6:00 PM on 200 N. Prospect St. Hagerstown in the Horizon Goodwill Industries Building, adjacent to Domino’s Pizza. The Washington County Historical Society - (located at 135 W. Washington St. Hagerstown) is looking for students to assist in a variety of opportunities. From weekend painting and garden work to working in their library, archives or assisting during Saturday craft sessions.
