Tech High Expressions: THE Magazine
Staff Meeting today! Welcome back seniors and welcome juniors! Tech High Expressions: THE Magazine is looking for new members! We are a literary and arts magazine looking for literary editors, as well as arts editors and future a future editor-in-chief. We will be meeting today in Mrs. Mowen’s room (Room 146) and will be finalizing last year’s magazine to prepare it for printing. If you’re a returning magazine staffer or if you’re interested in joining the staff for 2018-2019, please come this Friday!

Welcome back, seniors and welcome to Tech High, juniors! Student government is looking forward to a great year at Tech! Senior representatives for SGA have already volunteered. Any junior who would like to join SGA please see Mrs. Eberle for an interest form. All members can participate in electing this year’s junior president and vice president, helping with the homecoming dance, fundraising for our school and joining any of the several committees that make our school better. Our first meeting will be held in the auditorium from 12:15 to 1:00pm on Wednesday, September 12th. Only students who complete an interest form for SGA will be allowed to attend. Please see the bulletin board next to Mrs. Larrick’s room or Mrs. Eberle for an interest forms. In addition to all of you juniors who would like to participate in SGA, the Tech High officer team hopes that the juniors will run for junior president and junior vice president. These leadership positions for our school are designed for the juniors to have a say in the changes our school makes. All officer candidates will need to submit an SGA officer applicant form and be prepared to speak in front of the entire SGA on Friday, October 26 from 12:15 to 1:00pm. TECH HIGH PRIDE CLUB Information:
The Pride Club of Tech High invites you to be an active member of our group and attend meetings on discussions of various LGBT+ topics, as well as help plan events for the school, hosted by the club. The initial meeting will be held in Ms. Mowen’s classroom on Thursday September 13th after school. All are welcome. If you can’t make this first meeting, drop by the PRIDE CLUB tent at Friend’s Day to find out more about our group and events!

Fall HAYSL - Student volunteers are needed on Saturdays for concession stand duties and/or as sideline referees for youth soccer matches. Concessions are open from 9-2pm and refs are needed from 10-3pm. The season begins Sat., Sept. 15th and ends Sat., Oct. 27th. Training is provided and interested students should contact Katie Staup at email@example.com
BCA-Cumberland Valley - Student volunteers are needed to set up Fields of Pink at the following locations and times:
- United Bank (North Pointe Drive) Wed., Sept. 26th at 3:30pm
- Elks Club (Robinwood Drive) Thurs., Sept 27th at 4pm
- Orrstown Bank (Route 11, Greencastle) Mon., Oct. 1st at 3pm
BCA-Cumberland Valley - Student volunteers are needed to place pink flags around the walk route and remove them after the event, to hand out water and fruit and to encourage walkers on Sat., Oct. 20th from 6:45am-12:00pm. The Boondocks Music Festival - (in Boonsboro) is looking for student volunteers to run the Kid Zone on Saturday, Sept. 29th from 2pm-7pm. Students would oversee various activities such as lawn games, arts and crafts and face painting. Proceeds from the event go to the Wounded Warrior Project. The 12th Annual Hispanic Festival - held at the Hagerstown Fairgrounds, is in need of student volunteers. This is a family friendly event featuring Latino culture through music, food and more! Students needed on Sunday, Sept. 23rd anytime from 8:45am-6:00pm. Student must confirm registration no later than Thurs., Sept. 20th with Wenda Castro at 301-792-9101 or at firstname.lastname@example.org Students should state their first and last name, contact number and the school in which they attend on the email/message.
