ATTENTION Students: Parking permits will go on sale to SENIORS ONLY starting today. Juniors will be able to purchase permits starting Monday, October 8th.
Seniors: In order to purchase a parking permit, you must have all SSL hours completed, iPad fee must be paid and all beginning of the year paperwork must be turned in (including the Student Impact Aid Survey form).

Seniors - the deadline to order Class of 2019 t-shirts, hoodies and tie-dye long sleeve shirts is extended to Friday, October 5th. Class of 2019 shirts features a large 19 back design with every senior's name. Shirts and hoodies are black with design in school colors. You may get an order form from Mrs. Larrick, the Front Office or from Erin Helman.
During October, members of the Tech High Pride Club will be selling tickets to the WCTHS 3rd annual Halloween Party during the lunch shifts.
- When? Friday, October 26, from 6:00-8:00
- Where? Tech High Cafeteria
- Tickets are $5 single/$7 per couple. If you want to bring a guest from another school, please get a “Guest Form” from the table prior to ticket purchase.
- The event includes a Costume Contest with prizes donated by the Hagerstown Hopes organization and music by Mr. Billings. In addition, the club is planning some other games/activities for this year’s event. Refreshments will also be available. Come out to support the Tech High Pride Club!
Attention all students interested in joining the Academic Team: Academic Team will be meeting Wednesdays after school until 3:45 in Mr. Barvir's classroom. Academic Team is open to all students and is a fun way to competitively share our knowledge of History, Literature, Math, Science, Arts, Pop Culture and much, much more! If interested, please see Mr. Barvir.
iCoverage fee, $15, is due November 9. Please pay the $15 iCoverage Fee online through My School Bucks OR give the fee to your Tech teacher.
Juniors who would like to participate in SGA - the Tech High officer team hopes that the juniors will run for junior president and junior vice president. These leadership positions for our school are designed for the juniors to have a say in the changes our school makes. All officer candidates will need to submit an SGA officer applicant form and be prepared to speak in front of the entire SGA on Friday, October 26 from 12:15 to 1:00pm. Please see Mrs. Eberle for officer forms.
Senior Picture for yearbook:
- All senior yearbook pictures must be submitted by November 9.
- If you had your picture taken at Myerly and Lowe, they will submit your picture.
- If you had your picture taken elsewhere, please submit your picture digitally (JPEG) to email@example.com.
Yearbooks are $50 from now until December 22.
- $55 - December 23 – March 22.
- $60 – March 23 – May 3.
- $65 cash – May 4 – end of year if there are any unsold Yearbooks.
iPad access at home - Students/staff if you are having issues accessing the Internet at home, please try this: Enter username (5/3 or whatever you use to log into a school computer) and password (wcps lunch number) in the proxy up to 5 times. If you are still having issues, please stop by the Media Center.
College Application Day- Seniors please come to school ready to complete an application to a school or to start the process – College (2 year, 4 year) or Trade school. That means work on one this weekend. Oct 1 and 2. Seniors will come out of their English Class.
College /Career Fair - at Hagerstown Community College, Oct 10, 2018, 6-8 pm. Over 100 colleges and tech schools attend. Great for undecided seniors or junior exploration. Talk directly with a school’s rep.
FAFSA support - Oct 11, 3-7 pm or Dec 11, 3-7 pm. Students and parents may come to the counseling center to get assistance in filling out their Free Application for Federal Student Aid. You and your folks need a good email and tax returns from 2017.
ASVAB (Military entrance test) - November 12, 2018, 9:15 to 12:00 noon. Sign up in the counseling center. Interpretation of results will be done on December 10, 2018, 9:15-10:15.
Are you interested in a career in National Security, Public Safety or in Emergency Services? If you are, then reserve Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 5:30 PM to 8:30PM for the Maryland State Police ‘Career Night’ held at the Frederick County Law Enforcement Center, 110 Airport Drive East, Frederick, MD 21701. Smithsburg High students: Coach Shriver is looking for students able to assist during the Cross Country meet being hosted by Smithsburg High School on Saturday, Oct. 6th. Students could hand out water, distribute ribbons, direct runners and help set up for the meet. Interested students should stop by Mr. Shriver’s room before or after school or contact him at Shrivray@wcps.k12.md.us or call 301-766-8337.
Goodwill Industries - is looking for 17-18 year olds Washington County students to enroll in free classes! There are different topics for each 2 week class. Classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-6:00 PM on 200 N. Prospect St. Hagerstown in the Horizon Goodwill Industries Building, adjacent to Domino’s Pizza. The next class begins Tuesday, Oct. 2nd and you may sign up by calling Ebonee at 301-733-7330 extension 1701 (leave a detailed message) or by emailing Ebonee at email@example.com or go online and fill out an application. The Washington County Historical Society - (located at 135 W. Washington St. Hagerstown) is looking for students to assist in a variety of opportunities. From weekend painting and garden work to working in their library, archives or assisting during Saturday craft sessions. Fall HAYSL- Student volunteers are needed on Saturdays for concession stand duties and/or as sideline referees for youth soccer matches. Concessions are open from 9-2pm and refs are needed from 10-3pm. The season begins Sat., Sept. 15th and ends Sat., Oct. 27th. BCA-Cumberland Valley - Student volunteers are needed to set up Fields of Pink at the following location and time:
- Orrstown Bank (Route 11, Greencastle) Mon., Oct. 1st at 3pm
BCA-Cumberland Valley - Student volunteers are needed to place pink flags around the walk route and remove them after the event, to hand out water and fruit and to encourage walkers on Sat., Oct. 20th from 6:45am-12:00pm.
