School Immunization Requirements for 2018-2019

Posted July 26, 2018

Hagerstown, MD (July 26, 2018) - The offices of the Maryland State Superintendent of Schools and Maryland Department of Health have issued reminders regarding school immunizations for the 2018-2019 school year. For students in kindergarten through fourth grade, two doses of Varicella vaccine are required prior to admittance to school. All students in seventh through eleventh grade are required to receive a single dose each of Tdap vaccine and Meningococcal (MCV4) before they can begin school. Immunizations can be obtained from a health care provider and at times are provided by the Washington County Health Department at its Pennsylvania Avenue offices in Hagerstown. The Health Department also schedules in-school clinics at various times. For more information, parents should contact the school(s) where their children attend or the Washington County Health Department.
