First Read of Updated Fundraising Policy Scheduled Tuesday

Hagerstown, MD (September 2, 2016) - During the Washington County Board of Education's (BOE) Policy Committee meeting on August 31, 2016, the Committee finalized a draft of a proposed fundraising policy that will go to the BOE for a first read on Tuesday, September 6, 2016. A copy of the draft of Policy KB, which is entitled “School Activities, Programs, and/or Fund-Raisers Sponsored by School-Based Organizations, Parent Organizations, and Booster Clubs,” Exhibit KB-E(1), which is entitled “Activity or Program Approval Form,” and Exhibit KB-E(2), which is entitled “Authorization/Denial of Parent Organization/Booster Club,” can be reviewed by clicking the Poicy KB link in this release. 

The BOE's public business meeting on September 6 begins at 1 p.m.  The second reading and adoption of the policy and exhibits are tentatively scheduled for September 20, 2016.

School principals, parent organization presidents, booster club presidents and others are invited to comment on the proposed policy.
