Disability Awareness Art Contest Awards Reception on March 9

HAGERSTOWN, MD (March 2, 2020) – An awards reception for the Tri-State Civitan Middle School Disability Awareness Art Contest will be held on Monday, March 9, 2020 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Washington County Public Schools’ Center for Education Services, 10435 Downsville Pike, Hagerstown. Entries based on the theme, “There is Ability in Every Disability,” were submitted by general education and life skills students from Boonsboro, Clear Spring, E. Russell Hicks, Hancock, Northern, Smithsburg and Western Heights middle schools. All entries will be on display on the evening of March 9.

The awards program schedule provides an opportunity to view artwork and enjoy refreshments from 5:30 – 6:30, with announcement of awards beginning at 6:30, featuring first, second and third place honors given in each of five categories: General Ed/Grade 6, General Grade/Grade 7, General Ed/Grade 8, Life Skills and Open Design.  

An exhibit of the artwork will be on display at Valley Mall, Hagerstown, March 12 – 23.
