Hagerstown, MD (February 8, 2019) - Sarah Mason was showered with more congratulations and recognition Thursday night when it was announced at Bester Elementary School that Sarah had finished second in the national Safe Kids Worldwide's America's Favorite Crossing Guard contest. Sarah had been previously announced as a finalist because of the number of votes she received last fall. She has been a crossing guard for more than 50 years, the last 47 in the Bester community. Second place earns $7,500 that will be earmarked for additional pedestrian safety measures for Bester.
