2nd Annual Faculty Arts Showcase on May 15 at Williamsport High

HAGERSTOWN, MD (May 4, 2016) – The second annual Faculty Arts Showcase will be presented by Washington County Public Schools (WCPS) on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Williamsport High School. The faculty art show will open at 3 p.m. in the auditorium lobby. The concert featuring the teacher concert band and the teacher jazz band will begin at 4 p.m. in the auditorium.
The art show, organized by Lily Clay, art curriculum specialist, will feature more than 15 works by county art teachers. The concert band will be directed by Dr. Stephen Miles, supervisor of visual and performing arts. The jazz band will be led by Scott Benford, band director at South Hagerstown High School. Both music ensembles are comprised of current, former and prospective music educators from the area, along with talented community musicians and other WCPS staff members.
A $5 donation will be collected at the door and proceeds are earmarked for establishment of a scholarship fund to support graduating WCPS students pursuing higher education in the arts.
