Testing Positive for COVID-19:
Staff and families should report positive cases of COVID-19 to their school.
Schools are to report cases of COVID-19 to their School Health Office.
Positive test results from over the counter home test kits should be reported to the Maryland Department of Health.
All individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 should follow the guidance of the local health department and or their physician (more detailed information can be found here).
At minimum, individuals must stay out of school or work for 5 days from the onset of symptoms or testing positive and should wear a mask for 5 days after returning to school. If an individual is unable to wear a mask, they may return with a negative test result at day 6 or later. If not testing, they should remain home through day 10 .
You should only return to school when you have been symptom free for at least 24 hours without the aid of fever reducing medicine and have resolving symptoms.
