Back to the Past in the Future!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to look back into the past from the future?  Well wonder no more!  Join Planetarium Teacher Alicia Robertson as you build your own device for looking backwards in time!

This month’s show will include an opportunity for participants to build their own simple device to look back through time with (a telescope), a night sky tour with Brish Planetarium Teacher Alicia Robertson, and exclusive access to the flat screen version of the hit planetarium show, Universe Unseen!

As part of a partnership with JLG Industries, we are also offering a free telescope building STEM kit that includes materials to help you try your own STEM activities at home.  A limited number of kits will be available for pickup to all registrants at the planetarium from 8:00 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. on Monday, January 25th and from 8:30 a.m. through 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 26th.  If you are a teacher within Washington County, email [email protected] to arrange delivery of materials to your school.  Please allow 3-4 school days for delivery to be made.

If you don’t plan to pick up a kit, you can use a 1 ½” magnifying glass, a 2 ½” magnifying glass, and a cardboard tube like a paper towel roll tube to build the telescope we will be making.

Although the event is free, registration is required. Click here to register!
