Event Details

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Pennies for Patients campaign is working with thousands of schools across the country to raise funds for blood cancer research--and we are one of them!

From December 3 through December 21, students and staff at Hancock Elementary and Hancock Middle Senior High are encouraged to contribute donations to the collection box found in each homeroom.

This will be our 13th year of this campaign. Our goal is to earn $2,085.25, the average of the past twelve years' campaigns (which together raised a total of $25,022.88).

Weekly grand-totals will be calculated to determine which class is most successful and to see which school -- Hancock Elementary, Hancock Middle or Hancock High -- is most effective in raising money for cure for cancer. Each student in the classes giving the most (at the elementary, middle and high school levels) will receive a Shives’ mini one-topping pizza.

Last year, the students and Hancock community proved more than generous as $1,502.98 was raised! Last year, class/teacher winners were Teresa Hess’ 4th graders, Lora Amtower’s 6th graders and Robyn Carter’s and Susan Mott’s high school homerooms.
