Medical Absence

Sometimes events in our life prevent us from being on the job for periods of time, and this page contains information to help you navigate these types of situations. You may qualify for Family Medical Leave (FMLA), which is job-protected unpaid leave for up to 12 weeks. Learn more by reviewing the ‘Family & Medical Leave’ document on the right.

If you need to be out of work for more than 3-5 days, notify the Benefits Office of your upcoming absence by logging a case in the HUB. The Quick Guide on the right provides instructions on how to log a case. If you are already absent, call the Benefit line for assistance at 301-766-2810.

The Benefits Office will determine if you qualify for FMLA, and if not, forward your case to Human Resources. Please be aware that your absences are doctor driven and documentation will be required.
