Summer Programs

Washington County Public Schools offer summer learning opportunities for students in elementary, middle and high school. Summer school schedules and programs are listed below. Parents should call their school counselor or administrators including principals and assistant principals for more information regarding summer school.

High School

Summer School will run from June 23, 2020 to July 23, 2020. Students will have class from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. High school summer school will offer about twelve repeat credit courses and ten original credit courses. As usual, teachers will be ready to provide instruction in both the traditional classroom model and the blended learning model. Breakfast, lunch and transportation will be provided.

Middle School

Summer School will run from July 13, 2020 to August 6, 2020. Students will have class from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Students will have three (3) hours of Literature Camp, one (1) hour of math and one (1) hour in an elective class. Breakfast, lunch and transportation will be provided. If we are unable to have students in school, a similar program will be offered online.

Elementary School

Summer School will include three types of programs to meet the needs of all students. Weekly online newsletters will be available for all elementary students to continue learning throughout the summer. Individualized and small group distance learning targeting students who need help closing the learning gap will be scheduled for 2-4 hours per day from July 6 to August 20, 2020. Traditional elementary school summer school will run from July 27 to August 20, 2020. Students will be in school from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Students will engage in Literature Camp and mathematics. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Students in Title I schools will have transportation provided through community hubs for pick up. Parents in non-Title I schools will need to provide transportation to and from school each day. If we are unable to have students in school, a similar program will be offered online.
